Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is "Peaceful Waters" and "There's Only One Answer" one and the same ministry?
A. Peaceful Waters Community Fellowship is a specific communty of believers who share a common faith. Whereas, "There's Only One Answer" is an outreach ministry of "Peaceful Waters Community Fellowship". The outreach ministry goes into the world to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord and teaches believers in the faith concerning last days prophecy.
Q. I noticed you don't do fund raising or sell any of your articles, news letters, etc. So, as an exception, why do you charge for a subscription to "The Earth Changes Report"?
A. "The Earth Changes Report" is independant of and not produced by the Peaceful Waters Community Fellowship. The series is published by ECReports. We advocate these publications as specialties for a particular directed source of information for those who are interested.
Q. What denomination is Peaceful Waters Community Fellowship associated with?
A. We are a not associated with any particular denomination. The fellowship emerged as an independant Christian movement.
Q. Are you considered a Church?
A. We are a part of the body of Christ and consider our fellowship a part of God's Church and confess that Christ Jesus is Lord and Savior.
Q. Is Peaceful Waters considered part of the orthodox church?
A. Many would consider us to be, but we think of the fellowship as abiding moreso in the spirit of the early Christian Church.
Jesus and the apostles in their own day were often not in line with orthodox views and often clashed with orthodoxed (and unorthodoxed) religious leaders. Jesus rebuking the Jewish orthodoxy of his day said " By the traditions of men, the word of God is made of no effect". We also are leary of some church tradition which developed from about 220 AD onward.
Conversley, we are not in agreement with current day "prosperity teachers" who have been led astray by the lust for and the corruption of riches. We believe that these are deceived by the Laodicean heresy.
Nor are we advocates of new age groups who merely use and quote Jesus only where it serves their own world view and agenda, who deny the truth, and do not follow the whole council of God. These are seducing spirits and workers of iniquity who deny the true Christ, those who are happy to shipwreck the faith of true believers... but God will not be mocked.
We do embrace and especially espouse the early Christian church and the more pure Christianity with purity of the gospel as delivered by the Apostles.
Like the early Christians, we carry the Ichthys (ἰχθύς) fish and the cross as our symbols. Whereas Christan orthodoxy tends toward the emphasis of Church tradition and the repitition of fixed doctrines as developed and ammended over many centuries, we emphasize the original spirit of the early Church, progressive revelation, and the inward annointing by the Holy Spirit.
Q. Do you accept the validity of all religions and believe there are many ways to God?
A. No.
Q. Do you really believe that Jesus is the only way to God?
A. Yes.
Q. Why do you think your religion is better than everyone elses?
A. We don't ascribe to any religion so we are not in a competition. We believe the world is in a lost and evil state and that it was God in Christ reconciling the world to himself.
Q. Are you a Gnostic Christian group?
A. No. We do not accept the heresy teachings of the early gnostics such as Menander, Saturninus, Basilides, Cerdo, Marcion, and Apelles. We do not accept the cosmology systems developed by later gnostics either such as Valentinus, Heracleon, and Ptolemy. Jesus warned his own disciples of false Messiah's, false prophets, and workers of iniquity who appear as God workers. The letters of the Apostles to the Churches expose apostates and warn against their false teaching. The early Church Fathers are unanimous and unambiguous about these false teachings as well.
We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ who bestowed his truth to his very own chosen Apostles, who in turn ordained faithful men of known Christian reputation into the ministry of the Churches in Jerusalem, Rome, Antioch, Alexandria, Macedonia, Asia Minor, and other parts of the world.
Q. What is your teaching on communion? Do you still administer the bread and wine today?
A. St. Paul our Apostle makes it very clear that we are to continue the Lord's communion until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. St. Paul says, "for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death till he come". I Corinthians 11:26
Q. Do you believe that Jesus will return again one day?
A. Yes.
You are refering to what the Apostles called "The Day of the Lord".
The Gospel of the Lord boldy proclaims the future coming of Jesus Christ. Not only the book of Revelation, but just about every letter of the Apostles and the Gospels teach and proclaim the future return of Christ.
Q. Will the return of Christ be a literal return?
A. Yes.
No one in the early Christian Church believed in anything other than a literal return of Christ. None of the Apostles taught a mystic or non-literal return. Only some heretical gnostics did, who also denied a literal first advent of Christ and denied many other things concerning Christ too.
The early Church fathers, Justin, Irenaeus, Ignatius, Polycarp, Clement, Tertullian, Hyppolytus, etc., etc., all taught a literal future return of Christ in their writings.
Also, the testimony of Angels is that even as Christ ascended bodily and literaly into heaven so also would one day return.
"Which also said, You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven." Acts 1:11
